When it Comes to the Forest, We Know the Way
Since the pioneering days of the early 1920s, the Hayes name has stood for innovation and integrity in the forest. Today, our management team has built solidly on that tradition. With an outstanding team, sophisticated management systems and the most comprehensive offering of services in the industry, we've earned more than a reputation for leadership in the forest services industry. We've also been recognized as one of  Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies.

A Tradition of Leadership
Hayes has been well known in the industry since the 1920s when Douglas Hayes, our grandfather, started manufacturing the Hayes logging trucks. His design innovation of the revolving log truck bunk led the conversion from rail to truck logging. Hayes Forest Services Limited was founded in 1957 by Donald A. and Harriet C. Hayes and has continued to grow through innovation and acquisition since then.
Under the leadership of Donald P. Hayes, the company made a significant leap in growth in 1989 when it acquired the largest forestry services contractor of the time and assumed that distinction itself. The company has since expanded into new service areas like helicopter logging and engineering to offer the most comprehensive line of forest services available in British Columbia today.

The Company We Keep
Our success depends on finding effective solutions for our clients. Hayes has a broad base of customers which includes Weyerhaeuser, TimberWest, Western Forest Products Limited, J.S. Jones Timber Ltd., Interfor, Canfor and Dunkley Lumber Ltd.
In addition to our traditional customers, Hayes is building strong working relationships with First Nations based on respect for their unique culture, values and needs. Partners to date include the Huu-ay-aht First Nation, Ditidaht First Nation, the Lillooet Tribal Council and others.
