Our Approach
Hayes has developed the most comprehensive forest services offering available from any single supplier in British Columbia. 
   In 1989, we began to broaden our services offering so that our customers could enjoy “one-stop” service. Starting as a provider of conventional, ground based logging services (“Stump to Dump” contractor), we have expanded our services to now include helicopter logging, forestry and engineering and all other phases of timber management (“Tree to Mill” contractor).

Applying Sophistication to a Traditional Industry
   The logging industry has remained extremely traditional and has been slow to change and evolve. As a strategic goal initiated in 1989, Hayes was determined to apply a higher degree of sophistication to its business.

   Our process of communicating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) on every job, to every employee, empowers our people to carry out the task before them based on a thorough understanding of what the customer expects and within the constraints of regulation. Our management information systems enable and empower each employee to act and react based on the specific knowledge of each job.

We have developed a culture that can respond rapidly to changing customer demands. Our ability to quickly react is based on anticipating trends and using our own experience with one customer or job to quickly address changes in other projects. 
   While no two customers focus on exactly the same issue at the same time, there are trends that can often be anticipated. In this way, we can prepare for quick changes.
